In a world where technology is advancing faster than ever, it’s time to consider going paperless. There are tons of benefits to reducing and even eliminating paper from your life—including saving time and money. Here are five tips to help you make the switch.

  1. Sign up for eBills and eStatements

Make the switch from paper bills to e-bills. It’s faster, better for the environment, and cuts down on paper. Another perk is automatic billing. This will save you tons of time each year. With eStatements, an electronic version of your paper statement is available through Online Banking. Once you are logged into Online Banking, simply click on the Profile tab and scroll down to Electronic statements to set up the accounts you want to receive via email. Plus, we will notify you via email when your statement is ready to view.

2. Use a to-do list apps

For day-to-day tasks, replace paper sticky notes with electronic to-do or project management apps. There’s no shortage of options to choose from. Our favorites are ToDoist, and the notes app that comes standard on your smartphone.

3. Mobile Deposits

Mobile Deposits are paper checks deposited by their recipient using a camera or scanner without the need to visit a physical bank branch location. It is a feature on our Reliabank mobile app that allows you to take a picture of your check and upload with just a few clicks, no matter where you are.

4. Cloud Storage

You can use apps like Dropbox and Google Drive to store your files in the cloud. It works similar to a computer or external storage—however, you’ll be required to log in, to access your information. The main benefit of cloud storage is that you can access it from anywhere, as long as you have an internet connection and access to the apps. Cloud storage apps are readily available on smartphones as well as tablets, which includes iOS and Android. This is great, as you can take your files with you on the go.

5. Go Cashless

Recent survey said 41% of Americans say none of their purchases in a typical week are paid for using cash. Going cashless offers plenty of benefits for day-to-day money matters. For starters, cashless transactions make it easier to track spending and stay on top of your finances.
