Want to know more about contactless payments?

What is a contactless payment?

A contactless payment is a quick and secure way to pay using short-range wireless technology.

How do I know if my card is compatible with contactless technology?

Look for the contactless indicator on the front of your card. It looks like this: Contactless Payment Icon

How do I pay with a contactless card?

Just tap your contactless card or payment-enabled device near the terminal with the contactless symbol—no swiping or inserting needed. Your card still includes a chip and magnetic stripe, so you can pay the traditional way if contactless isn’t available.

When is this change happening?

Contactless cards are in production and will be issued to new cardholders and rolled out to existing cardholders as their current cards expire.

Where can I use my contactless card?

You can use your contactless card anywhere you see the contactless payment symbols.
This includes retailers, restaurants, convenience stores, pharmacies, stadiums and more.
Your contactless card can still be used by inserting your chip card or swiping at checkout if contactless payment is not available.

Is tapping safe?

Tapping to pay is a secure and trusted method. It offers the same level of protection as chip card payments, including Zero Liability Protection and 24/7 fraud detection.

Accidental payments aren’t a concern—your card must be very close to the terminal to work, and you won’t be charged twice, even if you accidentally tap more than once.

Are there any additional fees associated with contactless payments?

No, contactless payments are available at no extra cost—just tap and go.

What if I don't want to or can't tap to pay?

Tapping isn’t required—just another way to pay! You can always choose to swipe or insert your card at checkout if that’s your preference.
